Every swap seemed to tilt away from the Raiders, and the value they bled adds up to real damage. Hard to defend, and the D- reflects that.
Jayden Daniels gives the offense a face and a plan, and the grade leans heavily on whether he hits. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up.
Reaching for Laumea left real value on the table behind him. The bill for those future picks comes due whether the class hits or not.
Watson at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster.
It is a steep hill from here, and the grade knows it.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 7 they get the arm they will build around. A real need, handled.
Quinyon Mitchell at pick No. 44 is money in the bank, a cornerback taken below his worth. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Christian Haynes. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
The board had cheaper options than Sataoa Laumea at Round 4, Pick 12, and it noticed. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
A straight-up fair deal on Justin Rogers at the 150th pick, value and slot in agreement. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
They took Jaylan Ford at par in the Round 5 slot, which is nothing to complain about. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
A quiet steal in the 234th overall pick: Blake Watson for less than the market said. It fills a real need, too.
