Somebody took the Eagles to the cleaners. The deals they made bled real value, and the whole class wears it. A weekend that fought the value and lost, hence the D+.
Spending an early pick on linebacker with interior defensive lineman and quarterback open is the decision the grade keeps circling back to. The interior defensive lineman spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.
They banked enough surplus on Adams to cover a lot of smaller sins. The Zinter reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade.
Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even, and interior defensive lineman is still a hole.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 25th pick they get a potential shutdown corner. The biggest hole, addressed.
Payton Wilson at pick 62 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. A minor itch, scratched.
No edge and no loss on Kiran Amegadjie in the Round 3 slot; it is a wash and a sensible one. A need, and now a little less of one.
Sedrick Van Pran at the 71st overall pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It fills a real need, too.
A market-rate edge rusher, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Jonah Elliss. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Jaden Hicks at No. 93. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
A reach for Zak Zinter in the 96th pick; a little patience would have been rewarded. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
They took Jarvis Brownlee Jr. at par in Round 4, Pick 13, which is nothing to complain about. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
A want over a need in the Round 4 slot: Cedric Gray adds a linebacker while interior defensive lineman and quarterback keeps waiting.
Nice patience on Ray Davis, who had no business lasting to the 117th overall pick. The roster fit checks out.
A curious use of pick No. 120. Interior defensive lineman and quarterback needed the pick; an OLB-EDGE in Javon Solomon did not.
They paid sticker price for James Williams in pick 124, and that is fine. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
A straight-up fair deal on Ben Sinnott at No. 126, value and slot in agreement. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
A quiet steal in slot 129: Elijah Jones for less than the market said. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Roger Rosengarten in the 131st overall pick is fair value, right on his grade. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Jamari Thrash at pick No. 133 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Jarrian Jones in the Round 5 slot is exactly on the number, no argument either way. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
No drama and no debate, AJ Barner went about where he belonged in the 171st pick. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Somehow Isaiah Adams was still sitting there in Round 5, Pick 36, and they pounced on premier offensive lineman value. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Jaylan Ford slipping to slot 219 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. Pure best-available; the position was not exactly begging.
Trente Jones in pick 226 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
The board fumbled Sheridan Jones all the way to No. 245, and they scooped it up. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
