The search is over. The Vikings handed the keys to Bo Nix, and the whole operation now runs on his development. It does the job without flash, and the B reflects it.
The wide receiver hole is the one line item this class does not answer. That Hart pick is the receipt they will wave around later.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the wide receiver spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 11 they get the face of the franchise, though they paid up to get him. Exactly the need they had to hit.
A tidy bit of business in the 45th overall pick, where Tyler Nubin graded well above the range. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Nice patience on Blake Fisher, who had no business lasting to the 108th pick. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
A market-rate safety, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Cole Bishop. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
They let Cam Hart come to them and pounced at pick No. 148. It adds depth where they could use a little.
The board had Keith Randolph Jr. higher than No. 160, and the edge rusher fell to them anyway. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Grayson Murphy in pick 165 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Isaiah Davis in the Round 6 slot is fair value, right on his grade. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
They did well to land Braiden McGregor in the 205th pick, just ahead of his grade. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Steele Chambers slipping to the 230th overall pick is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
