The Robbie Ouzts selection is the head-turner. The Raiders reached 56 spots for him, and it will define how this weekend is remembered. No fireworks, but a solid B.
The Rourke steal is the beam this whole class leans on. They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it. They went 6 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 6 they get a potential shutdown corner at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
Kenneth Grant at Round 2, Pick 5 is money in the bank, a interior defensive lineman taken below his worth. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
A clean, defensible pick in No. 68 with a little surplus value in Jalen Royals. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Quinn Ewers slipping to pick 108 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
You do not let a safety like Malachi Moore reach pick No. 143 and blink. They did not. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Somehow Kurtis Rourke was still sitting there in the Round 6 slot, and they pounced on premier quarterback value. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
A linebacker of that caliber at the 213th pick is the definition of value, full stop. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Steal is underselling it; Donovan Edwards at the 215th overall pick is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
A real head-scratcher, Robbie Ouzts in the Round 7 slot is miles ahead of his ranking. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
