The search is over. The Raiders handed the keys to Bo Nix, and the whole operation now runs on his development.
Getting Clark where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. That cornerback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
It is a haul that will look even better come September.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 21st overall pick they get a long-term answer under center. A real need, handled.
They did well to land Bralen Trice in Round 2, Pick 12, just ahead of his grade. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
A quiet steal in the 113th pick: Blake Fisher for less than the market said. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Luke McCaffrey in pick No. 147 lands just on the right side of the ledger. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
A market-rate running back, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Braelon Allen. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
They read the board right and Kitan Oladapo was the payoff at the Round 6 slot. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Good price on Eric Watts in slot 200, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
De'Corian Clark at No. 231 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
