The Eagles did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and Donovan Smith fell into the 185th overall pick. Call it a sensible B+, earned the boring way.
Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck. They punted on cornerback, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but cornerback.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 15 they get a run-stuffing presence up front. The biggest hole, addressed.
The board fumbled Abdul Carter all the way to pick 39, and they scooped it up. A minor itch, scratched.
No drama and no debate, Luke Lachey went about where he belonged in pick No. 100. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Luke Kandra is a better player than Round 4, Pick 25 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
