You could see the war room lean forward. Wyatt Milum at the Round 6 slot is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did.
The dealing alone would carry a lesser class. That wide receiver hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. The Eagles clearly valued win-now help, adding bodies who have done it before.
The bill for those future picks comes due whether the class hits or not.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.

A top-tier edge rusher at a bargain, Abdul Carter in the 22nd overall pick, plain and simple. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
In No. 32 they get a sticky cover corner at a price that makes it sweeter. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Taking Tyler Warren in the 55th pick is close to grand larceny; a tight end that good had no business lasting this long. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
They barely believed it either: Ashton Jeanty still on the board at the Round 4 slot. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Jalon Walker at pick No. 162 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Walter Nolen at slot 166 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Wyatt Milum in pick 192 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. The roster fit checks out.
