The Vikings spent the pick that matters most on Jayden Daniels, and a roster that has been waiting on a passer can start to take shape. It nets out to a B-, which feels about right.
The Hall reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. Murphy falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. They will regret leaving safety for another day if the season turns on it.
They will answer for taking DT-EDGE early while safety and wide receiver went begging.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but safety.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 11 they get a passer to set the clock by. The biggest hole, addressed.
Nothing to complain about; Jeremiah Trotter Jr. went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
The eyebrow-raiser of the weekend. They went DT-EDGE with Maason Smith while clear needs at safety and wide receiver sat open.
The board fumbled Gabriel Murphy all the way to pick 108, and they scooped it up. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
DJ James in the 130th overall pick is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
A reach on Jaylen Wright in pick No. 148; the board had better options right there. A need, and now a little less of one.
A straight-up fair deal on Delmar Glaze at the Round 5 slot, value and slot in agreement. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Gabe Hall. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Brevyn Spann-Ford at No. 230 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
