You can hear the double-takes from here. The Raiders took Trey Moore at pick 129, roughly 131 spots before his name belonged.
Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Sabb. The whole projection now runs through Jalen Milroe; hit there and everything else looks smarter.
Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere. They will regret leaving tight end for another day if the season turns on it.
If Jalen Milroe and a couple of the gambles land, hindsight will be kinder than this grade.
Pick-by-Pick
Tetairoa McMillan slid further than he should have, and the Round 1 slot is lovely value for the wide receiver. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
In the 29th pick they get their quarterback of the future, a steep price for the projection.
Nothing to complain about; Zy Alexander went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Kaleb Johnson at the 82nd overall pick is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
They reached into another round for Trey Moore, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
They went early on Jaeden Roberts in pick 146, and the value did not follow. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
A safety of that caliber at the 169th overall pick is the definition of value, full stop. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Value said wait; Thor Griffith in slot 210 says they were not listening. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Nick Nash in pick No. 216 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
