The trade table was where it all came apart. The Raiders shipped out far more than they hauled back, and no amount of spin dresses up the bill. There is no dressing it up: a F.
Henderson has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. Whatever Jayden Daniels becomes, the front office has tied its fortunes to the answer.
They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it. On value alone, Ford makes the weekend a net positive.
The bill for those future picks comes due whether the class hits or not.
About as rough as a weekend gets on paper, with edge rusher still staring back at them.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get a franchise quarterback. A clean fit for the roster.
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Christian Mahogany. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
A straight-up fair deal on Jarvis Brownlee Jr. at slot 112, value and slot in agreement. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Dillon Johnson at Round 5, Pick 12 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Value said wait; Trevin Wallace in the 208th overall pick says they were not listening. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
LaDarius Henderson in pick 223 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Steal is underselling it; Jaylan Ford at No. 229 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.
