The Cardinals came in with a to-do list and worked it. Quarterback was the headline item, one of 8 of their 8 biggest needs they crossed off. Good, not great, and the B says as much.
The offense got the lion's share of the attention.
In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
Malik Nabers at the Round 1 slot is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
In pick 26 they get a blindside protector. The biggest hole, addressed.
Leonard Taylor III in the 35th overall pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Adisa Isaac at No. 66 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Mekhi Wingo in the 71st pick is fair value, right on his grade. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
They paid sticker price for Marist Liufau in pick No. 89, and that is fine. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
By-the-book stuff, Audric Estime at Round 4, Pick 4 squarely in line with his ranking. The roster fit checks out.
No edge and no loss on Beaux Limmer in slot 133; it is a wash and a sensible one. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
A market-rate quarterback, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Brennan Armstrong. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
They took Austin Stogner at par in the 188th overall pick, which is nothing to complain about. It fills a real need, too.
A straight-up fair deal on Phil Jurkovec at No. 225, value and slot in agreement. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
No drama and no debate, Stefon Thompson went about where he belonged in pick 227. Need-wise, a curious use of the pick.
