They finally answered the question that shadows every other one. Jayden Daniels is the Vikings' quarterback, full stop.
Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck. The safety hole is the one line item this class does not answer. Adding Andy Dalton by trade rounds out the weekend beyond the rookies.
The roster is better shaped than it was, with quarterback chief among the fixes.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but safety.
Pick-by-Pick
A reasonable price with a little left over, Jayden Daniels in pick No. 11. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
T'Vondre Sweat in the 65th overall pick lands just on the right side of the ledger. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
The board had Blake Corum higher than the 83rd pick, and the running back fell to them anyway. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
They took Leonard Taylor III at par in slot 108, which is nothing to complain about. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Nehemiah Pritchett at the Round 5 slot is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. A minor need, but a need all the same.
They paid sticker price for Layden Robinson in No. 160, and that is fine. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
A slide stopped in Round 5, Pick 29, with Austin Booker worth more than the price. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Nothing to complain about; Jaylan Ford went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Joshua Cephus at pick No. 230 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
