The search is over. The Vikings handed the keys to Jayden Daniels, and the whole operation now runs on his development. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B+.
That safety hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. The Tampa pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch.
A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 11 they get a long-term answer under center. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
The board fumbled T.J. Tampa all the way to pick 61, and they scooped it up. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Bucky Irving at the Round 4 slot is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. The roster fit checks out.
They paid sticker price for Javion Cohen in the 148th pick, and that is fine. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Nice patience on Nehemiah Pritchett, who had no business lasting to the 160th overall pick. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
Nothing to complain about; Moose Muhammad III went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
A clean, defensible pick in pick No. 167 with a little surplus value in Edefuan Ulofoshio. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Grayson Murphy at No. 179 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
A tidy little value on Omar Speights in the 230th pick, a step better than break-even. They doubled down on a strength rather than a need.
Brevyn Spann-Ford at pick 250 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
