The Eagles lost the trade war and it was not close, handing partners the better end again and again.
They punted on interior defensive lineman, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. The Rosemy-Jacksaint steal is the beam this whole class leans on. Jonathan Greenard gives the group a proven body among the projects.
On the needs board they went 6 of 9, with cornerback the one that mattered most.
It grades out a shrug today, with plenty of room to move either way.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 22 they get an island corner at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Jeremiah Trotter Jr. at pick 54 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A minor need, but a need all the same.
A reasonable price with a little left over, Kingsley Suamataia in the 59th pick. The roster fit checks out.
Jalen McMillan in Round 3, Pick 23 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
No drama and no debate, Khyree Jackson went about where he belonged in pick No. 97. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Value with a capital V on Nelson Ceaser in slot 126, a genuine coup. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
A tidy little value on James Williams in the Round 5 slot, a step better than break-even. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
A quiet steal in the 158th overall pick: Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint for less than the market said. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Jaylen Wright slid further than he should have, and slot 163 is lovely value for the running back. A need, and now a little less of one.
Michael Barrett at pick 178 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A want more than a need, though you can never have too many.
A slide stopped in pick No. 243, with Joshua Cephus worth more than the price. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
