Somewhere a scout is still blinking. The Raiders spent No. 235 on Kendall Milton, a name the board had a full 202 spots lower. It does the job without flash, and the B reflects it.
The dealing alone would carry a lesser class. That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
The Justin Fields deal gives the class an established piece to lean on.
Good work on the whole, with edge rusher the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 14 they get a load in the middle at fair value. A real need, handled.
Quinyon Mitchell at Round 3, Pick 14 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
A real head-scratcher, Zach Frazier in the Round 4 slot is miles ahead of his ranking. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Nothing to complain about; Cedric Gray went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
By-the-book stuff, Christian Mahogany at pick 192 squarely in line with his ranking. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
A big swing on Kendall Milton at slot 235, well ahead of any board in the building. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
