The Cardinals ran the phones like sharks, prying loose value on deal after deal until the ledger was lopsided. One of the weekend's best, top to bottom, and a A- to show for it.
For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain. Speights at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. The cost of the Jackson reach is exactly the players who went right after him.
In the end it comes back to Marvin Harrison Jr., and a haul good enough to build on right away.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 4 they get a No. 1 receiver at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
They took Cooper Beebe at par in pick No. 71, which is nothing to complain about. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
They went early on Khyree Jackson in the Round 3 slot, and the value did not follow. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
They did well to land Julian Pearl in Round 6, Pick 13, just ahead of his grade. It does not line up with the team's obvious holes.
They read the board right and Omar Speights was the payoff at the 225th overall pick. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Isaiah Neyor at the 227th pick is the proof. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
