You could see the war room lean forward. Steve Linton at slot 192 is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did.
If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through cornerback. Spending an early pick on defensive back with cornerback, running back and other spots open is the decision the grade keeps circling back to. Job largely done: edge rusher settled and 5 of 8 of the wish list covered.
The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.
Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.

In No. 14 they get protection for the quarterback. The biggest hole, addressed.
Quinn Ewers in Round 2, Pick 14 lands just on the right side of the ledger. The roster fit checks out.
A straight-up fair deal on Nazir Stackhouse at the 78th overall pick, value and slot in agreement. A need, and now a little less of one.
A surprising call. With cornerback, running back and other spots still to address, they spent pick 114 on Khyree Jackson, a defensive back they were not short of.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Devontez Walker in the 151st pick. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
They robbed the room for Steve Linton here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
