Somewhere a general manager is explaining how De'Corian Clark got past him. The Raiders do not have to explain a thing at the Round 7 slot. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B-.
Caleb Williams is the bet, and the class will be judged on how it pays off. They punted on edge rusher, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 4th pick they get their guy under center for the next decade. A clean fit for the roster.
They took Troy Fautanu at par in No. 114, which is nothing to complain about. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
A clean, defensible pick in pick No. 151 with a little surplus value in Jack Nelson. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
You do not let a cornerback like Kamal Hadden reach pick 192 and blink. They did not. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Steal is underselling it; De'Corian Clark at the 235th overall pick is a heist with the alarm still ringing. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
