Every swap seemed to tilt away from the Raiders, and the value they bled adds up to real damage. The process wobbled, and the D is where it lands.
Quinn Ewers gives the offense a face and a plan, and the grade leans heavily on whether he hits. Leaving edge rusher unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. However the rest shakes out, Hill at that price is a win they earned.
Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, edge rusher very much included.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 7 they get a long-term answer under center. A clean fit for the roster.
You do not let a cornerback like Denzel Burke reach pick 39 and blink. They did not. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Ajani Cornelius in the 55th pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
They barely believed it either: Barrett Carter still on the board at slot 71. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
No drama and no debate, Nicholas Singleton went about where he belonged in the 87th overall pick. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
They will replay Sonny Styles at Round 4, Pick 7 for years; that is how good the value is. A minor need, but a need all the same.
J. Michael Sturdivant at the Round 5 slot is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Steal is underselling it; Tommi Hill at No. 167 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
The board fumbled Donovan Smith all the way to the 199th pick, and they scooped it up. The roster fit checks out.
