If you want a masterclass in dealing, watch the Vikings, who turned every swap into a profit this weekend.
They will regret leaving quarterback for another day if the season turns on it. The Vikings indulged a want in Jackson while a need in quarterback, offensive lineman and other spots stayed open.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the quarterback spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 17th pick they get a bendy edge with upside. Exactly the need they had to hit.
A straight-up fair deal on T.J. Tampa at the Round 2 slot, value and slot in agreement. A minor itch, scratched.
A premium they did not need to pay, T'Vondre Sweat a notch or two before his time. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
They read the board right and McKinnley Jackson was the payoff at Round 3, Pick 33. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
