The board owed the Texans one, and it paid up: Tre Harris, the No. 192 name on the board, sitting there at Round 7, Pick 20 like a gift left on the doorstep. They moved the roster forward and banked a B- for it.
That interior defensive lineman hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. Reaching for Marks left real value on the table behind him.
On the needs board they went 4 of 8, with running back the one that mattered most.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 24 they get a go-to option on the outside. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Cooper Beebe in Round 2, Pick 21 lands just on the right side of the ledger. The roster fit checks out.
No drama and no debate, Max Melton went about where he belonged in pick 95. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Zach Frazier at the Round 4 slot is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Jo'Quavious Marks in No. 124 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Fair-plus on Antwaun Powell-Ryland, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Tre Harris in pick No. 240 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Fentrell Cypress II in the 242nd overall pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.
