When a board-topper like Dwight McGlothern slides to No. 210, you do not overthink it, and the Raiders did not. It nets out to a B, which feels about right.

They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it. The Samson Ebukam pickup adds a known quantity to a class of unknowns. A modest surplus at the table, banked quietly.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the edge rusher spot they never got to.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.15 · Pick 15 · Byron Murphy II · DL · rank 20
In pick No. 15 they get a disruptive interior force. A clean fit for the roster.
R2.12 · Pick 44 · T'Vondre Sweat · DT · rank 48
By-the-book stuff, T'Vondre Sweat at the Round 2 slot squarely in line with his ranking. A need, and now a little less of one.
R3.13 · Pick 77 · Blake Fisher · OT · rank 70
Blake Fisher in the 77th overall pick is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
R4.13 · Pick 113 · Zak Zinter · OG · rank 104
Zak Zinter at the 113th pick is money in the bank, a offensive lineman taken below his worth. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
R4.18 · Pick 118 · Braelon Allen · RB · rank 109
Braelon Allen at slot 118 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
R5.11 · Pick 147 · Kalen King · CB · rank 140
They did well to land Kalen King in pick 147, just ahead of his grade. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
R6.18 · Pick 193 · Hunter Nourzad · C · rank 188
A clean, defensible pick in Round 6, Pick 18 with a little surplus value in Hunter Nourzad. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
R6.25 · Pick 200 · Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint · WR · rank 198
No drama and no debate, Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint went about where he belonged in No. 200. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
R6.35 · Pick 210 · Dwight McGlothern · CB · rank 175
Taking Dwight McGlothern in pick 210 is close to grand larceny; a cornerback that good had no business lasting this long. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
R7.1 · Pick 221 · Nathaniel Watson · LB · rank 207
Nice patience on Nathaniel Watson, who had no business lasting to the Round 7 slot. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
R7.5 · Pick 225 · Tyrice Knight · LB · rank 216
They let Tyrice Knight come to them and pounced at slot 225. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.
R7.7 · Pick 227 · Josh Proctor · S · rank 215
They read the board right and Josh Proctor was the payoff at Round 7, Pick 7. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
