The search is over. The Raiders handed the keys to Jayden Daniels, and the whole operation now runs on his development. Good, not great, and the B says as much.
The Singer value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. A whole weekend of picks and edge rusher is somehow still a want.
Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
Pick-by-Pick
Jayden Daniels at the 14th overall pick is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the quarterback. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
A tidy bit of business in slot 46, where Josh Newton graded well above the range. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Christian Haynes in the 90th pick is fair value, right on his grade. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Nice patience on Kiran Amegadjie, who had no business lasting to No. 114. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
They barely believed it either: Cam Hart still on the board at the Round 4 slot. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
The board had Sataoa Laumea higher than pick No. 151, and the offensive lineman fell to them anyway. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Circle this one: Jason Marshall Jr. at pick 192 is a fall that decides a draft. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
A wide receiver of that caliber at Round 6, Pick 30 is the definition of value, full stop. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Dorian Singer at the Round 7 slot is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
