Call it belief, call it a gut call, but Dwight McGlothern at the Round 6 slot is 45 spots clear of consensus, and that is the headline.
A whole weekend of picks and edge rusher is somehow still a want. Landing Colson that late papers over a lot of smaller sins.
The roster is better shaped than it was, with offensive lineman chief among the fixes.
Good work on the whole, with edge rusher the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 14 they get a run-stuffing presence up front. A real need, handled.
Cooper Beebe in slot 46 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
They went early on Jackson Powers-Johnson in the 78th pick, and the value did not follow. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Tyleik Williams at the 114th overall pick is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the interior defensive lineman. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Junior Colson at No. 121 is the proof. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
No edge and no loss on Ray Davis in pick 151; it is a wash and a sensible one. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Dwight McGlothern in slot 192 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. Where it fits the depth chart is the real question.
The board had cheaper options than Benjamin Yurosek at Round 7, Pick 15, and it noticed. It fills a real need, too.
