The move everyone will second-guess came early. The Raiders reached some 44 spots for Trevor Keegan, and value like that does not grow back.
The trades bled value they could not afford to lose. The Colson pick is the one they will point to when this weekend is judged.
The wide receiver spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.
In the end, one you will need a couple of seasons to truly judge.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 19 they get juice off the edge. The biggest hole, addressed.
A slide stopped in the 48th pick, with Tyler Guyton worth more than the price. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
D.J. James in the 51st overall pick is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
They paid a round early for Michael Hall Jr. in No. 77, more than the board wanted. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
They barely believed it either: Junior Colson still on the board at Round 3, Pick 33. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
A reach on Jaylen Wright in slot 150; the board had better options right there. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
They talked themselves into Trevor Keegan at No. 190, and the board did not agree. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Darius Muasau is a better player than slot 234 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.
