The one hole that towered over the rest is filled. The Vikings spent their marquee pick on Drake Maye, and for the first time in a while there is a real answer at quarterback. More right than wrong, and a B to match.
The dealing alone would carry a lesser class. If one pick saves this weekend, it is Hart. They are betting Hall proves the room right and everyone else wrong.
If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through wide receiver.
Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 7th overall pick they get the arm they will build around. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
They went early on Payton Wilson in the Round 2 slot, and the value did not follow. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
No drama and no debate, Bucky Irving went about where he belonged in Round 3, Pick 25. It fills a real need, too.
A reach on Justin Eboigbe in No. 109; the board had better options right there. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Kris Abrams-Draine at slot 126 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the cornerback. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Nice patience on Cole Bishop, who had no business lasting to the 145th pick. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
A straight-up fair deal on Austin Booker at pick 157, value and slot in agreement. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
You do not let a cornerback like Cam Hart reach pick No. 166 and blink. They did not. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
Gabe Hall at the 179th overall pick is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Erick All in the 216th pick is fair value, right on his grade. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
A premium they did not need to pay, Matthew Jones a notch or two before his time. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
