Thirty-one other rooms let Johnny Dixon slide, and the Eagles were the ones holding the card at pick No. 234. Highway robbery.
They punted on edge rusher, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. They were the ones paying the moving tax this weekend.
The roster is better shaped than it was, with cornerback chief among the fixes. Nearly every premium pick went to that side of the ball.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick-by-Pick
A tidy little value on Quinyon Mitchell in the 22nd overall pick, a step better than break-even. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Xavier Worthy at pick 50 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Good price on Edgerrin Cooper in the Round 2 slot, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
No edge and no loss on Javon Foster in the 120th pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.

They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint in Round 6, Pick 35. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
They robbed the room for Curtis Jacobs here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. It is more luxury than necessity; they were already set here.
Johnny Dixon at the 234th overall pick is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Somehow Tatum Bethune was still sitting there in Round 7, Pick 33, and they pounced on premier linebacker value. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
