The Raiders looked at the value chart, folded it up, and took Kyle McCord at the 106th overall pick regardless, 115 picks early. It does the job without flash, and the B- reflects it.
That is a linebacker worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the edge rusher spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 8th pick they get a long-term starter on the line at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
A quiet steal in No. 39: Tate Ratledge for less than the market said. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Omarion Hampton at slot 69 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Jack Bech in pick 70 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
