The search is over. The Raiders handed the keys to Jayden Daniels, and the whole operation now runs on his development.
The dealing alone would carry a lesser class. Getting Torrence where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class.
The Spann-Ford pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 3 they get a franchise quarterback at fair value. A real need, handled.
A wild overpay on DeWayne Carter in No. 77, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Audric Estime at pick No. 89 is a conviction pick that outran the value. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Elijah Jones at the 112th pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Roger Rosengarten slipping to the Round 5 slot is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Ro Torrence in pick 208 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
They reached a country mile for Brevyn Spann-Ford at slot 223, and the board is aghast. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
