You can hear the double-takes from here. The Raiders took Sam Hartman at the 227th pick, roughly 56 spots before his name belonged.
The Coleman value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain.
In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 15th pick they get a blindside protector. Exactly the need they had to hit.
In the Round 1 slot they get a press-man option on the boundary at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
They robbed the room for Keon Coleman here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
A cornerback of that caliber at No. 113 is the definition of value, full stop. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
