The Raiders spent the pick that matters most on Bo Nix, and a roster that has been waiting on a passer can start to take shape.
The trade ledger is the best part of the whole weekend. The Ford value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere.
If Lindberg pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. A whole weekend of picks and wide receiver is somehow still a want.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the wide receiver spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 13 they get an island corner at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
In pick No. 19 they get the arm they will build around. A clean fit for the roster.
By-the-book stuff, Kris Jenkins at the Round 2 slot squarely in line with his ranking. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Junior Colson in slot 77 is fair value, right on his grade. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
A clean, defensible pick in the 117th overall pick with a little surplus value in Leonard Taylor III. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
LaDarius Henderson in No. 150 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
They paid a round early for Layden Robinson in the 153rd pick, more than the board wanted. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Jaylan Ford slid further than he should have, and Round 6, Pick 15 is lovely value for the linebacker. Depth on depth, at a spot that was hardly crying out.
They went early on Chad Lindberg in the 234th overall pick, and the value did not follow. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
