The Texans torched the value chart for Connor Colby, taking him 85 spots sooner than anyone had him slotted. Good, not great, and the B- says as much.
On value alone, Lovett makes the weekend a net positive. They won the margins on every swap, and it adds up fast. A whole weekend of picks and running back is somehow still a want.
It is a win-now wager, and the future is the stake.
Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.

In the 20th overall pick they get a double-digit-sack hope. Exactly the need they had to hit.
In the 27th pick they get a difference-maker at receiver at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
Payton Wilson in slot 58 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.

Nelson Ceaser in pick No. 123 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
