Las Vegas Raiders

The Raiders cashed the board's mistake on Stutsman: B.

You build a draft on nights like this. Danny Stutsman had no business being available in the 178th pick, and the Raiders did the only sane thing and turned in the card. More right than wrong, and a B to match.

Leaving edge rusher unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. Nearly every premium pick went to that side of the ball.

Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.6 · Pick 6 · Mason Graham · DT · rank 6
In pick No. 6 they get a run-stuffing presence up front at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
R2.5 · Pick 37 · Luther Burden III · WR · rank 15
They robbed the room for Luther Burden III here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
R3.4 · Pick 68 · Jihaad Campbell · LB · rank 38
You do not let a linebacker like Jihaad Campbell reach pick 68 and blink. They did not. A minor itch, scratched.
R3.9 · Pick 73 · Omarion Hampton · RB · rank 30
Omarion Hampton at the 73rd pick is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. The roster fit checks out.
R4.5 · Pick 106 · Tate Ratledge · OG · rank 70
Steal is underselling it; Tate Ratledge at the 106th overall pick is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
R5.5 · Pick 142 · Jake Majors · C · rank 98
A top-tier offensive lineman at a bargain, Jake Majors in Round 5, Pick 5, plain and simple. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
R6.3 · Pick 178 · Danny Stutsman · LB · rank 83
They will replay Danny Stutsman at slot 178 for years; that is how good the value is. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
R6.37 · Pick 212 · Jack Kiser · LB · rank 200
A tidy bit of business in the Round 6 slot, where Jack Kiser graded well above the range. It is more luxury than necessity; they were already set here.
R6.41 · Pick 216 · Jamon Dumas-Johnson · LB · rank 207
A quiet steal in the Round 6 slot: Jamon Dumas-Johnson for less than the market said. Depth on depth, at a spot that was hardly crying out.
R7.6 · Pick 222 · Trevor Etienne · RB · rank 215
A clean, defensible pick in pick 222 with a little surplus value in Trevor Etienne. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
