The trade table was a mismatch, and the Raiders were on the right end of it, hauling in a fortune in surplus value.
The edge rusher spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. The Fisher steal is the beam this whole class leans on.
The veteran additions, Justin Fields chief among them, give the class a floor the rookies alone would not. Almost all the early capital went to that side of the ball.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get a difference-maker at receiver at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
A quiet steal in the 44th pick: Quinyon Mitchell for less than the market said. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
A tidy little value on Tyler Guyton in slot 48, a step better than break-even. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
No edge and no loss on Michael Hall Jr. in No. 88; it is a wash and a sensible one. It fills a real need, too.
Blake Fisher is a better player than pick 112 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Nehemiah Pritchett slid further than he should have, and Round 5, Pick 14 is lovely value for the cornerback. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Jordan Magee at pick No. 190 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
No drama and no debate, Jase McClellan went about where he belonged in the 211th overall pick. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
They took Dylan McMahon at par in the Round 7 slot, which is nothing to complain about. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
