After circling the position for what felt like forever, the Raiders committed. Drake Maye is the quarterback now, and the roster gets built to his timeline. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B.
They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own. The edge rusher spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Wiggins.
The Raiders clearly valued win-now help, adding bodies who have done it before.
Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get a passer to set the clock by at fair value. A real need, handled.
In pick No. 31 they get a potential shutdown corner, and a steal at that. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
A reasonable price with a little left over, Blake Corum in the 77th overall pick. The roster fit checks out.
A reach for LaDarius Henderson in slot 150; a little patience would have been rewarded. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
They let Omar Speights come to them and pounced at No. 213. A minor need, but a need all the same.
A premium they did not need to pay, Donovan Jennings a notch or two before his time. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
