Nobody had Jordan Jefferson this high, and it is not close. The Raiders reached 36 spots to get him at the Round 5 slot.
They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own. That is a cornerback worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through edge rusher.
Adding Kyler Murray by trade rounds out the weekend beyond the rookies.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
Pick-by-Pick
Quinyon Mitchell at the 44th pick is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
A real head-scratcher, Roger Rosengarten in slot 112 is miles ahead of his ranking. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
They reached into another round for Jordan Jefferson, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
They paid sticker price for Dillon Johnson in No. 170, and that is fine. A need, and now a little less of one.
Nice patience on Joe Milton III, who had no business lasting to pick 208. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
They liked Trevin Wallace enough to skip the value, taking him in the 223rd overall pick. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
A big swing on LaDarius Henderson at the 229th pick, well ahead of any board in the building. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
