The rest of the league will want that one back. Jordan James tumbling to the Vikings in the 140th pick is a gift they did not have to think twice about.
They punted on quarterback, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. On the needs board they went 4 of 8, with safety the one that mattered most.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.
Pick-by-Pick
Kenneth Grant at slot 35 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. It fills a real need, too.
Deone Walker at pick No. 92 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Jake Majors at pick 97 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Steal is underselling it; Jordan James at the 140th pick is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A need, and now a little less of one.
Smael Mondon Jr. in No. 163 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
A safety of that caliber at the Round 7 slot is the definition of value, full stop. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
