The search is over. The Raiders handed the keys to Drake Maye, and the whole operation now runs on his development. It nets out to a B-, which feels about right.
If one pick saves this weekend, it is Jacobs. They will regret leaving offensive lineman for another day if the season turns on it. The Kamara pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over.
Edge rusher is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 13 they get their guy under center for the next decade at a price that makes it sweeter. A clean fit for the roster.
They paid up for Braden Fiske at Round 2, Pick 12 when waiting would have done the job. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
A clean, defensible pick in the Round 3 slot with a little surplus value in Xavier Legette. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
They jumped the gun on Mohamed Kamara, taking him earlier than his grade liked. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
A straight-up fair deal on Dylan Laube at No. 147, value and slot in agreement. It fills a real need, too.
Tyrice Knight at pick No. 210 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
They paid sticker price for Tyler Owens in slot 221, and that is fine. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
They will replay Curtis Jacobs at the 225th pick for years; that is how good the value is. It is more luxury than necessity; they were already set here.
A reach for Daijahn Anthony in the 227th overall pick; a little patience would have been rewarded. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
