A solid, sensible weekend for the Cardinals: B-.

The Cardinals looked at the value chart, folded it up, and took Desmond Evans at the 225th overall pick regardless, 50 picks early.
They punted on interior defensive lineman, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. Landing Smith that late papers over a lot of smaller sins.
Good work on the whole, with interior defensive lineman the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 4 they get a moveable chess piece at tight end at fair value.
In the 21st pick they get a disruptor off the edge, reach and all. Exactly the need they had to hit.
By-the-book stuff, Graham Barton at the 35th overall pick squarely in line with his ranking. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
They liked Payton Wilson enough to skip the value, taking him in slot 66. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Good price on Quinn Ewers in pick No. 71, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Roman Wilson at the Round 3 slot jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
A slide stopped in Round 4, Pick 4, with Tykee Smith worth more than the price. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Shemar Turner at pick No. 133 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
No edge and no loss on Jaylin Simpson in the 140th pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. A minor itch, scratched.
A real head-scratcher, Miles Frazier in pick 188 is miles ahead of his ranking. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Desmond Evans. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
A reach on Cody Schrader in slot 227; the board had better options right there. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
