Start where it matters. The Vikings took J.J. McCarthy to run the offense for the next decade, and every other decision this weekend bends around that one.
Every board in the league had Cole lower, and that gap is the story. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped wide receiver, which is a strange place to end up.
On value alone, Oladapo makes the weekend a net positive. The dealing tilted against them, just enough to notice.
In the end, a coin-flip class: fine today, with a wide range of outcomes ahead.
Pick-by-Pick
J.J. McCarthy at the 4th overall pick is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Cam Hart in pick No. 108 lands just on the right side of the ledger. A minor itch, scratched.
Christian Jones at the 129th pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
They reached a country mile for Myles Cole at pick 157, and the board is aghast. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Kitan Oladapo at No. 167 is the proof. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.

They talked themselves into LaDarius Henderson at the Round 7 slot, and the board did not agree. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Rasheen Ali well ahead of where he belonged. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
