The search is over. The Vikings handed the keys to Jayden Daniels, and the whole operation now runs on his development.
The dealing alone would carry a lesser class. Rosemy-Jacksaint at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster.
That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get the face of the franchise at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
T'Vondre Sweat in Round 2, Pick 10 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
By-the-book stuff, Andru Phillips at No. 118 squarely in line with his ranking. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Good price on Tyrone Tracy Jr. in pick 129, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
No edge and no loss on Kitan Oladapo in the 152nd pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Mason McCormick at slot 157 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
They did well to land Isaiah Davis in the 167th overall pick, just ahead of his grade. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
They read the board right and Kamal Hadden was the payoff at pick No. 177. Insurance at a position that did not really ask for it.
Layden Robinson is a better player than No. 188 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint at pick No. 230 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
