If you want a masterclass in dealing, watch the Vikings, who turned every swap into a profit this weekend.
The safety spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. Reaching for Glaze left real value on the table behind him.
Getting Sainristil where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. The veteran additions, Kayvon Thibodeaux chief among them, give the class a floor the rookies alone would not.
Bottom line, with Dallas Turner leading the way, this is a class that should pay off fast and rarely be regretted.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 22 they get juice off the edge at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Tommy Eichenberg in pick 112 lands just on the right side of the ledger. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Tate Ratledge in the 122nd overall pick is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Max Melton at the Round 4 slot. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Jordan Travis slid further than he should have, and pick No. 149 is lovely value for the quarterback. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
By-the-book stuff, Ashton Gillotte at No. 162 squarely in line with his ranking. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Mike Sainristil at the 165th pick is the proof. They added to a strength when a need was still open elsewhere.
Value with a capital V on Jamari Thrash in slot 179, a genuine coup. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Delmar Glaze in the Round 7 slot is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
