The Vikings did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and Jared Wilson fell into the 157th pick.
They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own. A whole weekend of picks and quarterback is somehow still a want.
They will need Burks to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it.
In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 32 they get a disruptive interior force, and a steal at that. A clean fit for the roster.
They robbed the room for Omarion Hampton here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Xavier Watts in Round 3, Pick 21 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
They barely believed it either: Danny Stutsman still on the board at No. 138. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
You do not let an offensive lineman like Jared Wilson reach the 157th overall pick and blink. They did not. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Steal is underselling it; Luke Lachey at the 213th pick is a heist with the alarm still ringing. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Deion Burks at the Round 7 slot jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
