The Raiders lost the trade war and it was not close, handing partners the better end again and again. Too much went sideways, and the D is the honest tally.
The edge rusher hole is the one line item this class does not answer. Landing Polk that late papers over a lot of smaller sins.
They left with cornerback solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
The verdict is not kind, and fairly so; this class has a hill to climb.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 15th overall pick they get a sticky cover corner. The biggest hole, addressed.
In pick 25 they get an anchor for the offensive line, and a steal at that. Exactly the need they had to hit.
They robbed the room for Ja'Lynn Polk here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
The board had Tykee Smith higher than the Round 4 slot, and the safety fell to them anyway. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Spencer Rattler at Round 4, Pick 17 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. The roster fit checks out.
