Somewhere a general manager is explaining how Tre Harris got past him. The Eagles do not have to explain a thing at the 253rd overall pick. More right than wrong, and a B to match.
The interior defensive lineman spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. Job largely done: cornerback settled and 5 of 9 of the wish list covered.
Good work on the whole, with interior defensive lineman the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 32 they get a double-digit-sack hope. The biggest hole, addressed.
Jordan Morgan at pick 51 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Denzel Burke is a better player than the 64th pick suggests; smart patience, rewarded. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
A clean, defensible pick in No. 97 with a little surplus value in Tory Horton. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Fair-plus on Cade Stover, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. It does not line up with the team's obvious holes.
Cedric Gray at Round 5, Pick 11 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
They paid sticker price for Devin Neal in the 172nd overall pick, and that is fine. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Bryce Foster at the Round 6 slot is right where the board had him, plain and simple. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
They will replay Tre Harris at the 253rd pick for years; that is how good the value is. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
