They finally answered the question that shadows every other one. Jayden Daniels is the Vikings' quarterback, full stop.
The Hadden steal is the beam this whole class leans on. The tight end spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. The dealing nudged the ledger their way without much fuss.
Good work on the whole, with tight end the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 11 they get their guy under center for the next decade. Exactly the need they had to hit.
No edge and no loss on Kalen King in the 44th overall pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. It adds depth where they could use a little.
By-the-book stuff, Leonard Taylor III at No. 108 squarely in line with his ranking. A need, and now a little less of one.
They paid sticker price for Cedric Gray in pick 132, and that is fine. A minor itch, scratched.
A straight-up fair deal on Braelon Allen at the 148th pick, value and slot in agreement. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Kamal Hadden at the Round 5 slot is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. It is more luxury than necessity; they were already set here.
Nothing to complain about; Kitan Oladapo went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
They read the board right and Grayson Murphy was the payoff at slot 179. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
A clean, defensible pick in Round 7, Pick 10 with a little surplus value in Zakhari Franklin. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Walter Rouse at the Round 7 slot is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
