The Vikings spent the pick that matters most on Jayden Daniels, and a roster that has been waiting on a passer can start to take shape. A dependable weekend that grades out a B.
The Sainristil value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. Leaving offensive lineman unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.
They went 6 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.

Pick-by-Pick
Jayden Daniels at the 11th overall pick is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the quarterback. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Adonai Mitchell in the Round 2 slot lands just on the right side of the ledger. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Somehow Mike Sainristil was still sitting there in No. 108, and they pounced on premier cornerback value. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Cole Bishop in pick No. 130 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Jaylin Simpson in Round 5, Pick 12 is fair value, right on his grade. Depth on depth, at a spot that was hardly crying out.
Justin Rogers at slot 160 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
They read the board right and Jaylen Wright was the payoff at pick 165. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Good price on Curtis Jacobs in the 179th pick, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
J.J. Weaver in No. 230 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
