This is the pick they will still be bragging about in July: Bru McCoy, the No. 188 name on the board, stolen at slot 230. Call it a sensible B, earned the boring way.
For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain. The Harrell pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. They left with edge rusher solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 11 they get a double-digit-sack hope at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
Kamren Kinchens at No. 42 is money in the bank, a safety taken below his worth. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Zak Zinter in the Round 4 slot is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Khyree Jackson in the 128th pick is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
A tidy little value on Jaylin Simpson in the 148th overall pick, a step better than break-even. A want more than a need, though you can never have too many.
Nothing to complain about; Darius Robinson went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
They took LaDarius Henderson at par in Round 5, Pick 28, which is nothing to complain about. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
They liked Jaylen Harrell enough to skip the value, taking him in slot 179. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
They robbed the room for Bru McCoy here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
