Everything else got attention, and edge rusher got none. That is a strange way for the Texans to leave a draft.
That Rice pick is the receipt they will wave around later. They left with running back solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the edge rusher spot they never got to.

In pick No. 23 they get a load in the middle, and a steal at that. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Jonathon Brooks in the 59th pick is fair value, right on his grade. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Brenden Rice slipping to pick 85 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
