The Raiders spent the weekend waiting on one name, and it fell: Danny Stutsman, the No. 90 name on the board, in Round 6, Pick 3.
The Horn Jr. reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. The dealing alone would carry a lesser class. The edge rusher hole is the one line item this class does not answer.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 17 they get a featured back, and a steal at that. A clean fit for the roster.
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Jaxson Dart. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
They robbed the room for Malaki Starks here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Circle this one: TreVeyon Henderson at the 73rd overall pick is a fall that decides a draft. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Somehow Barrett Carter was still sitting there in Round 4, Pick 5, and they pounced on premier linebacker value. A minor itch, scratched.
They will replay Demetrius Knight Jr. at pick No. 142 for years; that is how good the value is. A want dressed up as a pick, at a spot they had covered.
A top-tier linebacker at a bargain, Danny Stutsman in No. 178, plain and simple. Stacking talent where they were already deep.
A clean, defensible pick in slot 212 with a little surplus value in Hayden Conner. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
A reach on Miles Frazier in slot 216; the board had better options right there. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Jimmy Horn Jr. at the 222nd pick is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
